Joe is notified for his but Chris is trying to relocate. 001 class ve testing and regular meeting are the focus for us cf library is booked this weekend. its free but may not be conducive to regular booking for the meeting. ve testing probably ok - hospitals? cov / sartori for relocating club station - churches? orchard hill? orchard vinyard - kaplan college? chamber of commerce have any ideas? - waterloo center for the arts? weekends are probably busy - any hams able to host the club station or even meeting location ideas? - handicapped accessible - 20-30 parking - convenient location - chairs and tables would be nice - spot for the club station woud be nice - internet access would be nice - climate control - free - wloo library does NOT allow regular meetings to be scheduled, VE testing would be fine - maybe one of the airports? - getting non proffit may be the foot in the door - tax writeoff is another point 503C1 Secretary needs to get 503C1 going and we will need the ByLaws and the Constitution N0ZYC move to approve cost for reinstatement first and second N8TWO/N0CF get bylaws from web site (there may not be a constitution, find "statement of intention") mark has old papers secretary find a boilerplate constitution (off ARRL?) bylaws need to be updated badly (notices postal mailing) improve meeting interactivity - speed them up - let committees manage the details - for presentations, get more info on what interests people - maybe list the presentations planned out 6 months - shut down people that are ratchetjawing - get a gavel and use it - give people a shot clock ARES events should get Chris and Tom notified in addition to Chuck consider a year of consistency, where the board is carried over except for Stan rotating out need to consider why people come to the meetings, business meeting, socialization, presentation make the presentations more wide audience. some advanced but also some more basic presentations that have real-world involvement (bicycle mobile etc) "why do I want to be a ham? why do I want to be a member of NIRAA?" we should have a list of the events the club has participated in and hosted? discussion of new hams and upgrades a year of club dues discussion of soliciting / pass the hat for specific purchases (ambulance mobile was an example) tabling that for the next board meting oct and dec meetings go with the EOC until we have a better idea eoc is 7-9 sharp future board topics: - committee forming - presentations - adding value to members for the meetings and membership - club activities options - administrative / legal entity status / mission statements, collect and organize - reloaction for regular meetings - relocation of club station - get new bylaws voted on - free 2016 club membership for hams passing their test or upgrading email blast: - solicit ideas for new meeting location - include criteria - stress we want suggestions not solutions - stress we are already committed for Oct/Dec to EOC, suggestions are for next year)
