Since power demands were going to be quite low today, I decided to bring minimal solar power, consisting of
one 100w flexible panel and a 60 watt medium-size solar wallet. Mark (N8TWO) brought a deep cycle lead-acid
battery, and I brought my 100Ah lithium battery.
Solar performance was pretty low, due to a combination of the batteries being mostly charged, very low power
draw from the radios, and the skies being cloudy for almost the entire event. But it was good to test the smaller
controllers and more limited panel arrangements, so that was fine. Setting up even a single solar frame would
have been a big waste of time, and since I was packing a lot lighter than I typically do for Field Day, I just used
the Escape to bring in the gear.
Total energy collected was 85Wh with the large solar wallet and 109Wh with the 100w flexible panel.
