The scouts arrived in two groups along with some adults, starting around 12:45 pm. Each group spent around
an hour at our shelter. Mark (N8TWO) gave a short presentation, and the scouts read some materials and did
a worksheet. Then they learned more about code and started translating their names and short messages into
morse code. Each scout got several opportunities to key their name or message in on a radio.
We had hoped to divide each group into two parts and have then send messages back and forth between two radios,
but the radios weren't cooperating so we just settled for code practice. It wasn't quite what we were hoping for,
but the kids seemed to enjoy it anyway.
