near waverly, north of CF
sat/sun oct 17-18
could be as many as 150 participants, should plan that as a "worst-case scenario"

plant foxes the night before?
factor orienteering into the game?
scouts and cubs, boys and girls
vhf/uhf station at the main lodge
hf at another location
will have the stations in or near tents in case of inclement weather
mark has antennas, need to reserve radios
w0mg volunteers can reserve a cabin or tent to overnight instead of coming in early in the morning
maybe do a simplex chat intro with someone nearby, W0HHF maybe?

activity:
tape measure beam construction activity
- 9' of tape measure required for each 4 element beam (1" tape, not smaller)
- 4' PVC (3/4")
- 3 cross and one T
- two hose clamps (#20)
- black tape
- coax with bnc
- wire ties
bring the materials, purchase, or combination of the two?

frs check-in contest, possible lost patrol hunt, ongoing throughout the day

long wave / short wave

disaster / isolation / disaster preparedness, cell and land line

frs radio use

word phonetics
- say your full name in phonetics

morse code
- bring morse code tapes or playback on the computer
- get a few dozen secret messages on morse code files on the computer, decode the secret message

shortwave radio listening (evening) we would need to obtain some short wave radio

someone with a dstar radio talking with another state/country

probably saturday will be the only activity day
activities mainly between 10 and 5

crystal radio or other kit assembly

Whitney is pushing for an Opening Ceremony idea
