3 hail-damaged shingles:


I look a closer look at the shingles while I was up there. It sounds like they got some pretty nasty hail out
of a storm earlier this summer, and it bashed up some shingles. The top part was shattered off, revealing the
fiberglass threads that hold the shingle together, creating white dots of damage scattered around the roof.

There was no visible damage to the coax or rotor control cable though. (besides what the squirrel did)

Insurance is going to pay for a re-shingle of the house and garage next year, and Mike would also like to have
me come out and replace the coax and control cable with new wire. We'll add split-loom on the rest of the
cable that goes up the tower and down to the rotor as well. If the squirrels decide to gnaw on it before then
he'll just have to work whatever direction the antenna happens to be pointed till spring.
