back to 2023.10.18 reconnected repaired control cable

2 thrust bearing weather cover:


There's an old rubber sheet wrapped around the mast pole just above the thrust bearing, I assume it was added
to provide some weatherproofing. It's a bit cracked but looks to still be in fair condition.
