power connectors:


Most radios will use a JST 1.25mm connector. Many batteries will use a larger connector such as a JST 2.0mm,
or even a micro JST, so you may need to change the end or make an adapter. Check the polarity since there's
no hard standard for + and - on JST. I bought a few 10-packs of 1.25 and 2.0 "pigtails" to use for splicing
and making adapters. The 1.25's had the correct polarity, but I had to swap the wires on the 2.0's. (or you
could just try to remember that for that connector red is negative, but that would be too likely to trip me up)

Most small solar charge and battery management boards will use the larger JST 2.0 so be prepared for it.

The pins on these connectors are just crimped and the wires on them are notorious for pulling out of the back
of the connector if the connector sticks in the port its plugged into. Get your fingernails on the lip of the
female connector and pull mostly by that if you can, to avoid damaging the wiring.

If you need to swap the wires, push the wire into the connector so the locking tab on the pin isn't touching
the white stop-block. Then with a very small screwdriver, pin, or sharp DMM probe pin, lift up on the end of
the stop block. (I find lifting from the side of the end to work better) Then with the block lifted, pull on
the wire to remove the pin. (it should come out with almost no effort - do not force)

After removing the pins, press down on both stop-blocks to make sure they're fully back at their original depth.
Then reinsert the pins the other way, making sure the tab is facing the stop block.
