back to epic tales of hidden transmitters
Downtown Parking Garage
Downtown Parking Garage:
Another of my turns to hide the transmitter. This time I wanted to place it somewhere it would get out well,
since some of the recent hunts had been very short-range. The tallest accessible place downtown was the four-
story parking garage. And the top level was uncovered, so we went up there to see what we could find for a
hiding spot.
Now this garage, like many others, has an elevator. And elevators have penthouses - a structure above their
top floor where the machinery is kept. So off to one corner of the garage is this "extra" structure. It was
pretty easy to get on top of, so I just climbed up and set everything down on top of the flat surface. This
was a great place because it was so high up, plus despite being a pretty high-traffic place (during the day),
you couldn't see the transmitter or battery from below.
It didn't stay hidden for very long as I recall. It was one of those "Once you realize about where it's at,
there's really only one place it can be." Those sorts of spots always sound good on paper, but are usually
over pretty quick. I still liked the spot though.
