back to attenuators

fixed attenuators fixed attenuators:

Fixed-value attenuators have several uses, including power measurement and reducing signals in a fox-hunt.
They're easiest to find in SMA, but BNC are also available.

Don't transmit more power into an attenuator than it's rated for. Compact SMA attenuators are commonly found
in values from 10-40dB (usually in increments of 10dB), for power between 2 and 30 watts.

Also a high value (20db or more) is perfectly usable as a dummy load, since the emissions on the other end are
so low.

Unlike couplers, attenuators are usually Male on one end and Female on the other end, making them ideal for
connecting between a radio and antenna.
