CDE / Ham (Ham III, Ham IV, Ham V, etc) were popular with hams for turning their larger HF beams. They were
more inline than Archer, could support more weight, had more torque, and some models had a brake. They also
used a larger control box that worked across the entire line.

It's common to find these still in use today. If you run into one that's not working, it's often easy to fix.

- if it won't turn, it's probably a bad start capacitor
- if it turns but the direction indicator is stuck, it probably needs the position rheostat in the rotor replaced
- if it's the model with a brake but it can be turned when stopped (or has spots that it will turn) then it
  probably needs the bottom bell housing replaced

Any used rotor you run into should probably be opened up to give the bearings some fresh grease and to renew
the weather-seal between the housings. (use RTV sealant)
