back to 5 pre-built solar packages

If you would like to provide solar power for more than just your station, you'll need to invest in more
panels and get a better solar controller. At this point you're leaving the realm of buying a single kit and
will need to start selecting and combining the individual components that suit your needs.

I would suggest going with four 100w panels, and a 20 amp MPPT controller. A decent meter for tracking
power use would also be a good idea, if nothing else than to help you justify the added expense!

4 x dokio 100w flexible panels
1 x CPY 20 amp MPPT controller
2 x 100ft 10ga CCA wire
3 x 1-to-6 powerpole distribution blocks
3 x AGU fuse holder (use 120a fuses)
1 x bag of MC4 connectors
2 x cheap inline power meters
1 x good inline power meter

You'll need the additional wire to provide runs to other stations in the grid, as well as distribution blocks
to help patch into other stations that may not be prepared for additional ports. Make sure your batteries
all have 120A fuses on them. (you should also install a smaller fuse on the solar panel supply)

These panels will come with MC4 connectors on them. You can either cut them off and splice in, or get a bag
of connectors to use. I create 5 inch pigtails with MC4 on the long loose ends and a PP45 on the other end.
I also have a combiner board to connect panels together easily, and place a power meter inline at the solar
panels so I can monitor voltage and current, as well as count up the watt-hours produced. Get a few of the
cheap inline meters too so you can monitor power delivery into the grid or other stations.

Investment at this level costs around $500
