identifying connectors identifying connectors:

Here's a guide to visually identifying the most common 12v power connectors

PP15, 35, and 45 all use the same plastic housing, with different connector pins inside. PP15 and PP35 are
rated 15 and 35 amps and require soldering, while PP45 is rated 45 amps but requires a special crimper.
(although you can still solder them)

The SB50 shape grows for larger connectors (up to SB350) and the shells are "keyed" by color and cannot mix.

Also beware of cheap knockoffs. I bought some cheap XT60 connectors and found out the hard way that they were
made of soft plastic, not stiff nylon, and the shell melted when I tried to solder a wire to the contact.
Low quality fake powerpole 35/45 housings are everywhere, but most of the SB50 design are decent quality.

Your local RC hobby store should carry EC/IC/QS/XT, and you can find SB/SAE/T at most automotive stores.
