Bernz-o-Matic
Bernz-o-Matic:
Overkill most of the time, but essential for larger things you just can't heat up with your regular
soldering iron. Convenient click-to-ignite and regulator. I do find the regulator's precision is
a little lacking, and it usually takes me a little bit to get the flame adjusted just where I want
it, but it'll heat up anything that needs it.
Also has other uses, like freeing stuck bolts, and anything else that requires thermal abuse.
Note that this is still just a propane flame. It's not hotter than a regular propane torn, it
just has the ability to heat up larger objects. Use Polyamide film tape or aluminum foil to protect
wire jackets and nearby plastics from softening and melt damage.
And the fuel is SO cheap. This one is propane. Also avaiable for "MAP gas", which burns hotter.
