precision
precision:
Smaller components require smaller tools to work on. These have better tolerances, lighter spring actions, and are
designed to get a better grip on smaller parts. Just be careful to ONLY use these when needed, because they're
easy to bend, break, or just plain loosen up to where they don't work well for precision anymore, and are expensive
to replace. It's been my experience that you don't get much value out of the really expensive tools, since you're
paying 2-5 times the cost for just a small increase in quality, once you've already gotten to decent precision.
I keep my precision tools in a different, less conveniently located drawer, to encourage myself to always use the
more common tools except when I actually NEED a precision tool. They'll last longer that way. Also, if you
do happen to damage or break a precision tool, you're probably going to have to order and wait for a replacement,
since most of us don't have precision tool dealers nearby.
