One of my most important precision tools is my caliper. I use it all the time to get accurate measurements on
pieces I'm working on, as well as during construction. One of the most frequent uses is when constructing
enclosures in plastic boxes. Fitting lots of stuff in small boxes requires precision installation, and all the
holes on the outside have to be carefully planned out and positioned so everything fits inside the box.

There are quite a few different designs to choose from. I recommend getting a stainless steel caliper with a
digital display and locking screws. Mine's a slightly older model without the lock screws, but I use it
all the time and would need to get a replacement immediately if something ever happened to mine.
