silver circulating coins silver circulating coins:

These coins are 1 ounce in weight but are alloyed for circulation so are less than .999 pure silver.
The alloy varies, but 0.925 silver is typical, and copper is a common alloy to harden and prevent tarnish.

I haven't ran into any recently minted silver coins intended for circulation, but if I find any, they'll go
here. So all of these coins will be antique, back before "fiat" currency became common and coins were made of
precious metals to represent and preserve their value. Due to their age, most of these coins have lost their
luster and have taken on a grey tone. Only coins encapsulated early in their life will show any luster.
