tower bag
tower bag:
My tower bag contains the accessories I need to work with tower sections:
- furniture clamp and scissor jack for joining and separating sections
- torque wrench, metric and standard ratchet and box headed wrenches
- tape measure
- drift pins (for aligning bolt holes)
- large crescent wrench
- several sets of used and new tower bolts
- wire ties
- electrical tape
- gin pole support cup
- scissor jack
- roll-up wrench bag
Never expect to be able to reuse tower bolts, always bring enough kits to completely re-bolt anything you're
separating or joining.
The gin pole cup is small enough to be stored in the tower bag. The more bulky tower stand and gin pole clamp
are just transported bare. See the "gin pole and stand" folder for details on those related tools.
The roll-up contains a full set of standard and metric combo wrenches. They're arranged in order of size,
even between sets for quick identification of fastener size.
I've moved the gin pole cup to the Go Bag since sometimes the gin pole gets used when installing or removing
antennas but where no actual tower section work is being done. The furniture clamp is now kept outside the
tower bag for convenience.
