Black Diamond Magnetron:




I bought a few of these innovative new magnetic locking carabiners awhile ago. They're a neat design and have
a nice wide mouth, although they're rather hard to find. Maybe they ran into problems with them?

manufacturing costs and user concerns regarding functionality in cold or dirty conditions."

I'm guessing they had issues with the magnetic locks becoming unreliable after accumulation of debris in the
magnetic zone of the locks. Especially while bouldering, gear is exposed to bits of crushed rock, and if any
of that is ferrous (containing iron) it will be attracted to the magnets, fouling the re-lock. On an ice wall,
ice may accumulate on the locking surface and also interfere with the automatic re-locking.
