I bought this ages ago. The receiver runs on three C batteries and hangs on the wall wherever. It comes with
two remotes (that run on three AAA batteries) that each produce their own unique melody on the receiver.

The batteries in the remotes last forever, since they only draw power when the button is pressed. The receiver
needs fresh C batteries 3-4 times a year
