A solar trailer was recently donated to the club, and this was one of our first opportunities to use it.
It contains four 12 volt deep cycle batteries and has a pair of 100 watt panels on adjustable mounts on top.
The panels must be adjusted manually, and the trailer needs to be stored on charge when not in use. The
batteries are paired in the case to provide 24 volts dc but can be tapped at 12v for our radios.
I also tested a recently acquired 100w flexible solar panel.
You can clearly see one of the panels is the older polycrystalline (kaleidoscope look) and the other is one of
the newer monocrystalline (solid black) types of panels.
