back to 2025.10.01 K0DV rotor swap

4 rotor swap 4 rotor swap:

After loosening up the rotor's top bracket, I used the clamp to jack up the beam a bit over an inch. I installed
a pole clamp on the mast just above the neck as a safety and then swapped the rotor. I intended to remove the
jack and loosen the nuts on the clamp, and twist down the mast, but it didn't want to drop, even with the nuts
very loose. (it was probably catching on the grips on the neck of the new rotor) Not wanting to crack the
rotor housing with a hard drop, I folded over electrical tape many times and made a 1/8" cushion strip and put
that on top of the rotor. When I gave the antenna a slight nudge, it instantly dropped down onto the rotor,
without making a sound. (instead of a hard metallic clank from slamming into the rotor, which was my concern)

The rotor's operation was verified a few more times while I bolted things down and taped up the connections to
waterproof everything. Doug also verified his remote computer-controlled operation of the new rotor, so it
looks to be a completely successful job.
