back to 2025.10.01 K0DV rotor swap

2 rotor inspection 2 rotor inspection:

First order of business was to open up the rotor cable and at least verify the colors. I'd like to assume that
this connector is wired consistently across all CDE rotors, but assumption can lead to expensive repairs so
lets verify it first. Red and blue are interchangeable (only connect to start capacitor in the box) but all
the others need to be identical.

All colors matched, so I think that's a GO. There was some unexpected corrosion in the connector though. We
tried replugging the cable to see if that restored function but the rotor didn't change. The brake clacked
loud and clear but the rotor just hummed instead of turning. While it was commanded to turn, I tried to give
the antenna a little turn to get it started, but it didn't budge. Despite clearly hearing the brake release,
it behaved as though the brake was still engaged.

Before swapping the rotor, we brought up the replacement and connected it to the cable, to verify it wasn't a
cable problem. The new rotor worked perfectly, and with that I judged the old rotor to be bad.
