| Do you spend too much of your valuable time debugging your applications? Wouldn't you rather spend that time adding new features, shipping it to your client, or just plain sitting back and watching it run flawlessly? If so, you need Project Cuisinart! Project Cuisinart (or "PC" for short) is a REALbasic project file debugging tool. It has a variety of incredibly powerful features that will help you stomp bugs into the ground in no time flat. PC Also includes a number of development aides, to quickly and easily make changes or additions to your project that otherwise would be tedious and difficult. Some key features of Project Cuisinart: MongoBugNet - Adds "Exception" handlers to every single codeblock in your project. In the event of an exception, Mongo will display a messagebox indicating the exception AND the location where it occurred. This information is also logged to a text file, so that your beta testers can easily forward it to you for quick resolution. With MongoTrace, you will never receive another email saying "It said NilObjectException, this application must quit, and then it just quit." Instead, they'll send you an attachment that says you had a Nil in TaskListWindow in ListBox1's ExpandRow event. (you have the option to get a report of the exact line number the exception occurred on, hey that's better than the IDE can even do!) Anyone going through a beta-test cycle needs to throw down the bugnet to catch 'em fast. MongoWindows - Adds what amounts to an IDE's "Locals" window to your project. This gives you the power to observe all your properties from within built applications. Mongo also allows you to view all Globals such as SerialPort() and VolumeCount, as well as multi-dimensional arrays. (you can't do that in the IDE...) Full support for chaining from object to object is also included. No Pro users should be without this tool, it's a life-saver for debugging Windows compiles. MongoTrace - Ever get a bug where your program just isn't doing what it's supposed to? This is especially bad on a Windows build because you can't step-trace through your program to find where it's making that left turn at. MongoTrace will display a complete stack history for you while the program is running, to let you know just what's happening and in what order. (it can also log it to file) You can also use a plugin to send this display to the dcon window so that the stack history is availible even after a hard crash, making it much easier to identify the cause of hard crashes. SpellCheck - Everyone makes spelling mistakes, but who has the time to check the spelling of every balloon help and caption and title in their project? Mongo does! And he has a dictionary of over 110,000 words and the ability to make suggestions and replace them for you. Make sure your users see a professional application - run it past SpellCheck before you ship or release! Other features include an automatic programming bug finder, alphabetizer, project object export, project hazard analysis, custom and 32 bit icon importing, constants and properties import from text file, as well as several other useful items, all sure to make your REAlbasic coding experience more enjoyable and more productive. Project Cuisinart is a Shareware product, with a very reasonable registration of $25. This is not cripple-ware or demo-ware, PC is fully functional and will not "time-out" unexpectedly. I do ask that if you are using the program and find it of value, please register. Your registration will help ensure that new versions of PC are released on a regular basis. Registration is good for the lifetime of the product, there will never be an upgrade cost. Questions or comments? Email me at virtual1@pitnet.net |
